About the Editor

Audrey Guthrie

Audrey Guthrie has spent more than a decade serving as legal counsel for local government entities, small businesses, and non-profits. She has played a central role in the physical and technological development of communities in the United States.

Audrey has supported the responsible, and data privacy focused, corporate adoption of emerging technologies. She has also been instrumental in transactions shaping the physical landscape of the country including parks and trail systems, civic buildings, commercial complexes, and utilities. Her general counsel practice spans the full range of organizational legal needs from commercial contracts, data privacy, and intellectual property to construction, real estate, regulatory compliance, and employment law.

Beyond the work itself, Audrey is drawn to companies and individuals who are passionate about the community impact of their work. Nonprofits, public servants, and entrepreneurs building something meaningful have always had a particular place in her practice.

Writ & Wire grew out of the conviction that access to legal and regulatory information shouldn’t be a barrier to moving forward. It’s a resource built for government entities, small businesses, and nonprofits who need to be informed, prepared, and equipped to operate confidently in an increasingly complex legal landscape. Writ & Wire is simultaneously architected to optimize human utilization with efficient search features that combine statutes and relevant guides, and for AI consumption with semantic HTML, JSON-LD structured data, a versioned REST API, and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enabling direct tool use by AI agents.
